BMW Festival 2013

I deliberately missed BMW Festival 2011 as I had just bought my BMW and didn't want to find a cheaper car in better condition or with more goodies etc. (Ever the optimist...)

Last year I totally forgot the show was on so this year I made sure to get along and take a look round.

This year's show was on Sunday 18th August and, apart from a brief shower, the weather was great all day. The location was good too, The Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, plenty of hard standing so if it had rained you wouldn't be knee deep in mud. With the price of admission you could take a wonder around the museum, which features plenty of historic vehicles well worth a look.

A wide variety of cars made an appearance for the show, some models I had never seen before like the Z1 with it's unique doors that lower into the sill. There was a good combination of OEM, weird and wonderful, modified and specialist vehicles on show. Some might not be to everyone's taste, but they certainly did draw your attention. All of the concours competition entrants and winners were in a condition difficult to believe achievable, notably the blue E36 and Z3 coupe.

I took over 200 photos on the day, but have compiled some of my favourites below as highlights for this post. If you're anything like me and you enjoy scrolling through photos of cars you can find the full photo album in the following link.

For £15 it was a great day out and comes well recommended. I'll hopefully be able to make it to next year's show and I encourage you to do the same.
